Steve Weissman, President & Publisher

Steve WeissmanA trade journalist and industry analyst since 1979, Mr. Weissman is known for his strong business sense, marketing savvy, and innate ability to pinpoint critical success factors for clients. This has enabled him to steward scores of successful consulting engagements and research programs for vendors, VARs, resellers, integrators, and buyers of information technology who are looking to maximize the total value of their technology solutions.

Mr. Weissman is highly regarded for his pragmatic analyses and populist style; as such, he is in constant demand as an expert print and Web columnist and a dynamic public speaker, a role in which he regularly 'wows' audiences at industry forums, user and channel conferences, and association annual meetings. A member of the AIIM Conference Committee, he also is an ongoing resource for the trade, business, and general press, where the likes of Business Week, Red Herring, InfoWorld, and Network World, and television programs as diverse as World Business Review and Entertainment Tonight, frequently seek his input and opinions.

Before starting Kinetic Information in 1995, Mr. Weissman was Senior Consultant at Hurwitz Consulting Group, where he focused on the automation of organizational workflows and the tools used to build the software infrastructure. Prior to that, he was Business Development Director at BIS Strategic Decisions, where he spearheaded new research on the use and management of wide range information technologies. Before that, he held a similar position at Arthur D. Little Decision Resources, where he developed and managed new research titles for one of the country's leading consulting firms.


John Parker, Senior Analyst

John ParkerA veteran research analyst, journalist, and marketing consultant, Mr. Parker has worked extensively with leading software and hardware companies in data management, content management, CRM, and application development – as well as with VARs and systems integrators. As a Senior Analyst at Kinetic Information, he provides an intensely real-world perspective on the business concerns that underlie technology purchasing and deployment decisions by companies of all sizes. He is known for his ability to grasp complex issues involving technology infrastructure, and explain those issues succinctly and effectively in white papers, reports, and presentations to executives and the media.

Before affiliating with Kinetic Information, Mr. Parker was a Senior Analyst for Aberdeen Group, where he developed the multimedia and content management practice for the company’s Platforms and Infrastructure Group. Prior to that, he built and led a strategic communications team at Brodeur Worldwide, helping IBM and other major technology clients develop product marketing strategy. He also worked for more than a decade as a consulting editor for technology companies, and as a writer and editor for IT publications including Wall Street & Technology, VAR Business, PCWeek, and Information Week.

Mr. Parker is an experienced workshop leader and has been a panel moderator and speaker at numerous industry events, including Red Herring’s Herring on Hollywood conference.


Sandra Churchill, Analyst

Sandra ChurchillMs. Churchill is a long-time industry analyst specializing in market research and vendor communications. Possessing a keen investigative mind, she has an uncanny knack for zeroing in on the key business issues of the day and pursuing her inquiry until every dynamic is well understood. This research tenacity, combined with her deep background in the markets for computer systems, software, multimedia, standards, and peripherals, gives her a remarkable ability to develop and present the value-oriented pieces of market intelligence Kinetic Information's clients need to know.

Author of technical, business, and feature articles for regional, national, and international publications, Ms. Churchill worked for the seven years before affiliating with Kinetic Information as an independent provider of market research and technical publishing services; during that time, she worked with some of the leading companies of the day, including Banyan Systems, Compaq/Digital Equipment Corp., Plaut Consulting, and Xerox Corp. Prior to that, she served four years as an analyst at BIS Strategic Decisions.

Ms. Churchill's educational background includes a Master of Arts degree in Writing and Professional Publishing from Emerson College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Communications from Stonehill College.
